Acer’s 21-inch curved screen 17.6lbs: An insance laptop

On the same day that they revealed a 2.5-pound Ultrabook measuring just 0.39 inches thick, Acer also showed off another model that weighed 17.6 pounds and probably eats Ultrabooks to power itself.

This mammoth new machine is the Predator 21X, with the 21 referring to the diagonal measurement of its curved IPS display, and the X referring to the extra everything that Acer decided to cram inside its cavernous shell. Seriously, the hardware in this thing is absolutely insane. As insane as the $5,000 price tag Acer plans to slap on it.

Let’s start with the normal stuff. It’s powered by an Intel Kaby Lake processor and has 802.11ac+ WiFi, gigabit Ethernet, and several USB ports (two type-a and “at least” one type-c). The rest of the Predator 21X’s components aren’t exactly typical laptop fare.

The keyboard, for example, is mechanical and uses Cherry MX switches. The Predator 21X’s numeric keypad isn’t mechanical, but it does do backflips: you can turn it over if you need a gigantic touchpad to mouse around with. It also has dual GPUs — Nvidia GTX1080s, to be specific. Sound is pumped — nay, pounded — out through four speakers and two subwoofers. Its webcam? It supports eye-tracking, so you can glare at targets in some games to lock in headshots.

The swirling blue pattern here is actually the souls of Acer’s design team which are doomed to an eternity of servitude to the Predator 21X.

Even though this thing is brimming with USB ports, you won’t need to worry about external storage. You can just keep popping drives into another one of the laptop’s five internal bays until you’re satisfied with the total number of terabytes.

Want to hook up an external monitor? Not a problem. In fact, why not hook up three? The Predator 21X has two DisplayPort and one HDMI output options, so you’ll never have to worry about feeling limited by its single, puny 21-inch screen.

With this kind of hardware, the Predator 21X can’t be powered by an ordinary laptop brick. No, it takes a pair of AC adapters to supply enough juice to keep it running. We’ll assume you can just plug them into an ordinary wall outlet, but who knows? You might have to get an electrician to come wire in something that’s more like an EV charger.

Pokemon GO Egg: About CP and IV

When hatching Pokemon from Poke Eggs, you obtain Pokemon of the same level as your trainer – up to Trainer Level 20. In order to make it easier to plan and account for hatched Pokemon we created a handy chart depicting Egg Max CP and IV Values.

For example:

• Obtaining an egg when your trainer is level 10, the egg will hatch into a level 10 Pokemon even if you leveled up.
• Due to the level cap, even if you found the egg attrainer level 30, the egg will hatch into a level 20 Pokemon.

The following charts below help you easily determine what IV’s your hatched Pokemon have, assuming you are at least level 20. The 100% IV column represents Maximum CP you can get from an egg and 0% IV the minimum you can get when hatching.

Eevee has always been of the most versatile and useful Pokemon out there. The sheer fact it can take multiple forms and fulfil multiple spots on the team makes it attractive. The Pokemon GO version of Eevee is even stronger than that. This is a complete guide to Pokemon GO Eevee.

Pokemon GO Eevee Maximum CP is 1077
Trainers often wonder “what is a good CP to evolve Eevee?”. Before answering that question directly, let’s analyze what kind of Eevee you can get.

The maximum CP Eevee can reach is 1077, considering that you are level 30. At level 30, you “unlock” the maximum CP while capturing “wild” Pokemon. The closer you get to that magic number, the better you’re off.

Also, you can check the IV range using an IV calculator. IVs are “individual values”, hidden stats that differentiate members of the same Pokemon species. When using an IV calculator you get a percentage bracket, from 0 to 100%, that describes how good your Pokemon is. You should always aim for higher percentage.

Usually, a really good Eevee to evolve starts at 850 CP and has around 70% of IV score.

Eevee Evolution Trick

In what form your Eevee will evolve is determined randomly during the evolution. However, you can force your Eevee to evolve into a form you want by using a simple trick – just name it as suggested:

• Eevee named Pyro will evolve into Flareon
• Eevee named Sparky will evolve into Jolteon
• Eevee named Rainer will evolve into Vaporeon

As every form of Eevee can get various moves, we’re just gonna list the best move combinations. If you get an Eeveelution that has the perfect move set, consider upgrading it even though it might have lower starting CP than you would like it to be.

Pokemon GO Eevee Espeon and Umbreon evolution

We’ve noticed that multiple web portals are writing about evolving Espeon and Umbreon like it is possible to do it at the moment. It’s not. Espeon and Umbreon are Gen II Pokemon, and as of the time of this writing, Pokemon GO players can only capture Generation I Pokemon.

Don’t be fooled by false claims about “building friendship with Eevee” and “evolving Eevee during night time”. These are legitimate ways to obtain Espeon and Umbreon, but in other Pokemon games.

However, for the sake of the argument, let’s say you’d want to and that it is possible obtain Espeon and Umbreon. Our prediction is that the way to obtain them will remain the same as it was for Jolteon, Vaporeon and Flareon – using a name trick!

Sakura/Sayo has an Espeon
Gary Oak has an Umbreon

The client itself is pretty simple, a big assemblage of scrolling boxes divided into categories that looks pretty similar to Netflix' interface. There's even a 'list' which functions as a queue. Pretty convenient.

Games are pretty easy to get into as well. Launch a game and the service will connect with a server, load up in your profile, download the cloud saves (if you have any), and then bam, you're in it. Nearly any controller will work too. I played some God of War with an Xbox Elite controller and felt downright naughty. Even if it's running at a low resolution from a server a few hundred miles away, it feels pretty rad. 

I tested out a few games, and while we'll have some more extensive impressions soon, I was impressed with how responsive my input was. Street Fighter IV played liked Street Fighter IV, with almost no discernible input lag. I'm sure a pro would notice, but I was pulling off basic combos without issue. Most impressive is the sheer convenience of the application. It's simple, slick, and the novelty of having a low-impact resizable window with The Last of Us on my second monitor is something else.
