Just over 5 years ago, video game icon Duke Nukem returned to the video game world in Duke Nukem Forever after spending some time in development hell. The game was critically panned and most saw it as a terrible attempt at bringing Duke Nukem to a new a generation of gamers. Gearbox clearly took the feedback to heart as they haven't put out a Duke Nukem game since Duke Nukem Forever, however it looks like they're ready to try again.
After weeks of rumors, the king will return in a remaster of the fan favorite Duke Nukem 3D titled Duke Nukem 3D 20th Anniversary World Tour. The remaster will release October 11th on Xbox One, PS4, and PC for $19.99 and will allow players to switch between upgraded graphics and the original graphics from the 1996 version on the fly similarly to Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
The game will also feature eight new levels designed by some of the original minds on the 1996 version of the game, a new score composed by Lee Jackson, and newly recorded lines for Duke voiced by the legendary Jon St. John. You can check out the trailer for the remaster above.
